Funeral Repatriation from Kyrenia (Girne)

We collect and repatriate from Kyrenia and the whole of Northern Cyprus, around the clock, and coordinate with authorities on both sides of the island.

Coverage

Kyrenia District Coverage

We collect the deceased anywhere in the Girne district — Kyrenia town, Lapta, Alsancak, Karaoğlanoğlu, Çatalköy and Esentepe — from a hospital, a private home, a hotel or a care facility. A call reaches us at any hour, including nights, weekends and public holidays. Our team speaks English, Russian, German, Greek and Turkish, which matters here: paperwork in the north is issued in Turkish.

Transport

Route Out: Larnaca or Ercan

Ercan (ERC) connects only through Turkey, so for most destinations we route via Larnaca International Airport (LCA), the island's main cargo hub. That means a mortuary vehicle transfer across the crossing at Nicosia — roughly 100 km, normally under two hours including the crossing itself. Where the destination is Turkey or a connection through Istanbul suits better, departure from Ercan can be the faster option. We plan the route once the destination is known.

Documents

Registration and Consular Clearance

A death in the north is registered with the local authorities and the paperwork is issued there. For an international flight the documents have to satisfy the departure airport and the receiving country, which is where most families get stuck. We prepare the full set — death certificate, mortuary passport, embalming certificate, consular clearance — and deal with the embassies in Nicosia directly. You do not need to visit any authority yourself.

Preparation

Embalming, Coffin and Sealing

Air transport requires WHO-compliant embalming and a hermetically sealed zinc coffin inside an outer wooden coffin. We carry out the preparation in licensed facilities and handle the sealing before departure. There is no crematorium in Cyprus: if cremation is intended, we repatriate to a country where it is possible and arrange the urn from there.

Prices

What It Costs

Repatriation from Kyrenia is priced like the rest of the island — a fixed sum agreed before we start, with documents, preparation, transfer and air transport included. From €2,500 depending on destination; Greece and the near destinations sit at the lower end, far CIS routes at the higher. The calculator on the home page gives a figure in three steps, and a call gives you an exact quote.
